My Favorite Trader Joe’s Wines Under $7

Posted onDecember 15, 2017June 18, 2022 Best Under $7 Trader Joe wines, Favorite Trader Joe's Wines, Good cheap wines, Trader Joe's, Trader Joe's Wines, Trader Joe's Wines Under $7, wine, Wine picks

Is there anything better than expensive fine wines that tantalize with every sip?

Actually, there is… it’s inexpensive wines that tantalize with every sip. I’m a devoted wine lover who has traveled to vineyards around the world, from Napa Valley and Sonoma to France, Italy, Germany, Argentina and South Africa, so, let’s just say, I’ve consumed my fair share of vino.

No, I’m not a sommelier or some sort of self-proclaimed wine connoisseur, I’m just a guy that loves to drink good wine– the cheaper the better.

Yes, I’ve shopped at Total Wine, Costco, Aldi and Wal-Mart to find inexpensive wine, but my favorite place to find these gems at exceptional prices is Trader Joe’s.

Here are some of my favorites:

Bay Moon Sauvignon Blanc

Part of the Trader Moon collection of California wines, it has a sweet, fruity aroma, but it tastes a lot less sweeter than you might think. It goes great with seafood and salads. $5.99

Grifone Sangiovese

If you’re looking for a bold and delicious wine to go with a hearty meal or pasta with a tomato based sauce, you can’t beat this wine for the unbelievable price of only $4.99. Produced by a family-owned winery in Italy’s Tuscany region, it has intense raspberry and cherry notes and a balsamic flavor.

Trellis Pinot Noir

In my opinion, this Sonoma County wine is the best $6.99 pinot noir on the planet. The back of the label says it all: “Aromas of strawberry and lavender blend with silky tannins for a smooth finish”. Smooth finish, indeed!

Villa Borghetti Pinot Grigio

Utilizing 100% Pinot Grigio grapes from the Veneto region, this crisp and fresh white wine, with notes of pear and apricot, is superb as an apertif or certainly with any seafood. $5.99

Vinas Chilenas Rosario Estate Cabernet Sauvignon

It’s difficult to believe this wine sells for $4.99. It pairs nicely with meat, so get yourself a cheap cut of steak and enjoy a bargain hunter’s feast. It’s slightly spicy and oaky and finishes well.

Velvet Moon Cabernet Sauvignon

For a slight step up in price from the Vinas Chilenas, the Velvet Moon at $6.99 is a great buy. It’s oh-so-smooth with aromas of cherry and oak. I absolutely enjoy this wine with a flank steak or even a cheesburger.

Schloss Biebrich Sekt

This crisp, clean, semi-sweet German sparkling wine is the perfect beverage to celebrate special occasions and the holidays. At $5.99 a bottle you’ve got a lot of money left to really load up on some great appetizers.
{Note: I’m a Florida resident and the prices mentioned are those in my state. Prices may vary slightly in other locations.}
