Rory McIlroy Finally Gets His Green Jacket

Champions Dinner Scottie Style

2024 Champion Scottie Scheffler’s menu was packed with comfort food. In fact, I think I had the same exact menu at Texas Roadhouse a few weeks ago. Tiger Woods, recovering from achilles tendon surgery, was a no show.

Honorary Starters 2025

One of the greatest of many great traditions at the Masters is the honorary starters who hit tee shots on No. 1 hole to signal the start of the tournament. Nicklaus hit down the middle, Tom Watson’s swing is still so smooth and the ageless 89-year old Gary Player piped one and celebrated with his patented leg kick. (BTW, some onlookers said Player’s drive soared more than 250 yards down the fairway.)

Memorable Masters Week Quotes

Rory McIlroy On His Reaction When the Final Putt Dropped

“It was all relief. There wasn’t much joy in that reaction. It was all relief.”

Justin Rose On Coming So Close to Victory

“So it’s the kind of putt you dream about as a kid. To have it and hole it, it was a special feeling. And unfortunately, the playoff, they always end so quickly. That’s sudden death. You don’t really get an opportunity. If you’re not the guy to hit the great shot or hole the great putt, it’s over.”

Rory McIlroy on Tuesday on the Uniqueness of Augusta National

“You’re going to face shots and putts on this golf course that you don’t necessarily face every other week of the year.”

Jack Nicklaus In Media Briefing Hitting Phil Mickelson With a Verbal Body Blow

“Well, you know, I don’t know what level Phil is competing at. “I guess he’s still playing. He’s playing the LIV Tour, is he? I don’t know if he’s playing or not. I don’t know, you never see that anymore.”

Ludvig Aberg On Chasing Rory Down

“I think when he plays his best golf, it’s hard to catch him. I don’t think there’s a lot of guys in this world that can catch him when he plays at his best.”

Amateur Jose Luis Ballester After Urinating in Rae’s Creek

“I completely forgot that we had those restrooms to the left of the [13th] tee box,” Ballester said after completing a 4-over round on Thursday. “I’m like, ‘I really need to pee.’ Didn’t really know where to go.”

Nick Dunlap After Shooting a 90 on Thursday

“I hit a couple buckets of balls at my Airbnb into the woods [last night] … I had more of a knot in my stomach today than I’ve ever had starting a round of golf.” Nick Dunlap fought back on Friday and shot 1-under 71

Ludvig Abert on No Phones Policy at the Masters

“I think one thing that’s very underrated about Augusta—it’s not underrated, but I think just because of the fact that the patrons don’t have their phones out, it actually makes it feel like they’re so much more engaged. It’s a lot more eye contact with the fans. You can really tell that they watch and appreciate good golf. ”

Fred Couples on Why He feels Comfortable at ANGC

“I can play around here. If the weather is like this … as long as I don’t do crazy things I can shoot 73 or 4 or 5. That’s not embarrassing myself at all. The goal for me is to make the cut. Same with [Bernhard] Langer. Any other ancient guys? [Angel] Cabrera. That’s really our goal.”

Scottie Scheffler on His Bogey Free Round on Thursday

“Anytime you can keep a card clean out here, it’s a really good thing.”
