I don’t have a lot in common with your average PGA Tour player. One glance at my swing and you’ll be firmly convinced I’m a major hacker, not a potential Major winner.
Aha, I do, however, share an appreciation for Vessel, a Carlsbad, California company offering high-quality, tour-grade golf bags as well tennis and luxury lifestyle luggage.
Vessel has created bags for Tiger Woods, Jordan Spieth, Martin Kaymer and more than 100 PGA and LPGA players and athletes from other sports.
So, you might ask, why the heck haven’t you heard of them?
Their logo, at the bottom of the Tour bags, is typically overlooked as people focus on the exterior of the bag itself, which these days has more sponsor logos than a Nascar driver’s jumpsuit.
Vessel may lack the name recognition of, say, Ogio and Sun Mountain, but, I assure you Vessel’s quality and style is unmatched. They don’t go splashing their logo around in big, brassy ways, either.
I happen to like understated logos.
Luxury and Versatility
While I’ll talk about their exceptional golf bags later in this post, I’d like to introduce you to one of their more popular luxury lifestyle luggage offerings, the Vessel Signature 2.0 Boston Bag.
I take an inordinate number of weekend getaways, both golf and leisure related, and I’m convinced I’ve finally found the ultimate bag for the 2 or 3 day trip. It’s so functional and easy to carry and I even foresee taking it on my frequent international travels.
As a golfer, I absolutely love the bottom compartment to put things like golf shoes, toiletries, electronic equipment and more.
I like the sleek look, a premium synthetic leather that’s water resistant and easy to clean.
Best of all, there’s a big main opening at the top for easy packing and pockets are seemingly everywhere on the exterior giving you lots of flexibility to place all sorts of items. The interior has two slip pockets and a golfer-friendly velour lined valuables pocket.
A couple of other things I really like are the top notch, high-quality zippers and the detachable shoulder strap allowing multiple carry options.
Believe me, this bag was definitely designed by somebody who travels a lot. It’s also carry-on approved with most airlines.
Vessel will engrave the nameplate for $15.
Golf Bags
I absolutely love the clean, minimalist, high-quality look of Vessel’s stand bags.
My preference is to walk when playing golf and I do so every chance I get whether its at my favorite 9-hole course WP9 in Winter Park, Florida or on my travels to the British Isles and beyond.
Consequently, I want a great stand bag.
What sets Vessel’s stand bags apart from the crowd is the superb design, attention to detail, functionality and their Premium Microsuede Synthetic Leather which is durable and easy to clean.
Some of the features I like are the patented Rotator Stand System, Equilibrium Strap and seven well-positioned pockets.
They can also customize a bag for you easily. And they offer a great selection of cart bags and staff bags.
Vessel also has headcovers, hats, belt buckles, watches and other golf accessories.
Guru Verdict
Vessel is all about quality, design and craftsmanship. If you want testimonials, just look at how many PGA and LPGA pros use their bags without compensation. Yeah, you might be able to surf the Web and find something cheaper, but if you want the very best for travel luggage and golf bags you won’t find anything better Vessel.
